Overview
Red River Hall is a steel-framed, two-story academic building designed to blend with the campus’ architectural identity and connect to the surrounding landscape. The L-shaped facility includes 41 classrooms, administrative offices, three computer labs, a 4,000 SF conference room, a cafeteria, and a coffee shop. Its main purpose is to expand space for the Early College Education Partners Center for dual-credit high school students, grow the college of business, and eliminate the need for temporary modular buildings — including an expanded Bloomberg Finance and Investment Lab for the accounting program.
Thoughtful attention to materials is evident throughout, featuring a custom wood atrium wall with a river design, terrazzo flooring, 3-D ceiling tiles, high-end casework and millwork, and custom glazing with inlaid geometric patterns. A glass-enclosed second-floor walkway connects the two buildings, symbolizing students’ journey from high school into higher education. The design maximizes natural light through floor-to-ceiling glass on all sides, with digitally printed glass leaf panels strategically positioned to deflect sunlight. Site work included significant grading due to the hillside location, two new concrete parking lots, soccer fields, driveway access, and landscaping with irrigation.
