Satterfield & Pontikes enters the K-12 market with the Houston Independent School District

1995

The completion of the Humble Civic Center marks 5 years of business for the company

1996 

Satterfield & Pontikes opens offices in San Antonio and Dallas

1997 

The ENR Top 400 ranked Satterfield & Pontikes for the first time, the list ranks public and private construction companies based on contracting-specific revenue

2000

The company celebrates 10 years with the completion of Margaret Gleason Elementary School for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD

2002

Satterfield & Pontikes completes the Jack Evans Police Headquarters for the City of Dallas, the City’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) facility

   The company surpasses $500 million in completed construction projects with the delivery of Lee College’s Technology Center

2004

The completion of the Laredo Community College South Campus brings the company’s total construction projects to over $1 billion

2005

Building Information Modeling was used for the first time on Stratford High School to repair structural problems with both the exterior brick and structural steel of the original structure

2006

The first office building in Houston to be designed and constructed using a collaborative building information modeling (BIM) method is also the first building in Houston to receive LEED-CS Gold certification

2007

S&P received widespread recognition for design excellence and construction quality, led by the award-winning 11000 Equity Drive project, which earned multiple honors across architecture, sustainability, and construction. Additional accolades highlighted achievements in education, aviation, and institutional work, reinforcing a strong year of industry recognition across diverse project types.

2008

S&P earned broad recognition for excellence in education and civic projects, with top honors including a Project of Distinction for Tarleton State University and a “Best of the Best” APEX Award for 11000 Equity Drive, alongside multiple construction and design awards across projects like the City of Bryan Justice Center and Dallas ISD’s Hector Garcia Middle School.

2009 

The company expands to Austin, Texas

The National World War II Museum project was awarded the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Aon Build America Award for Best New Building Project

2010 

Satterfield & Pontikes completes NASA’s first LEED Platinum building, which was also Johnson Space Center’s first major construction project in more than 17 years

2011 

The first federally funded project for the company, the renovation of the Jackson Barracks originally built in 1835, named ENR’s Best Renovation/Restoration project in the nation

2012

Billy Earl Dade Middle School, completed for Dallas ISD, earns national accolades from ENR as the Best K-12 project in the nation

2013

Satterfield & Pontikes completed its first major aviation project, providing project controls services for the $1.2 billion Delta Air Lines redevelopment and renovation project at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York

2014

The company marks it’s 25-year anniversary with the completion of another Walmart retail center. S&P has build over 50 Walmart retail centers across Texas.

Satterfield & Pontikes awarded the construction of Klein Cain High School, the 665,000 SF campus marked the largest project for the firm as well as the largest school in the Houston area

2016

  The complex renovation of Francis Hall, a historic building at Texas A&M University, is recognized by both the AGC and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as the best interior renovation in the nation

2017 

  Cypress Park High School recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors with an ICE award for Excellence in Construction, as well as the Best of Houston Award recognizing the project that best represents the industry and city

  Satterfield & Pontikes constructs the company’s largest mixed-use project to date, the new Century Square development in College Station

2018 

   The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral expansion was completed, and later received accolades from the AGC, ABC, and ENR for the complexity of the construction phasing

2019

   Construction of Klein Cain High School earned a National Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award from ABC

The company celebrates its 30th anniversary, and the anniversary video is later awarded one of the Houston AGC’s first ever VIC (Videos in Construction) Awards for Best Short Documentary

Houston ISD’s Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center, a multi-phased new high school on a tight site, honored as an Outstanding Example of Tilt-Up Concrete Construction from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA)

2020 

Satterfield & Pontikes recognized by ABC with a National Safety Excellence Award
