S&P Promotes Calen Shearer to Vice President

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) has promoted Calen Shearer to Vice President. In this new role, he has extended accountability for Business Development and client relationships along the fast-growing I-35 corridor. His previous title was Director of Business Development.

“Calen has a wealth of operational experience as well as contacts that are incredibly valuable as we continue to grow our market opportunities in the Central Texas region of the state,” says Ken Smith, SVP, Central Texas Business Unit. “He knows our company inside and out and understands the importance of collaboration with our clients, subcontractors and the communities we serve.”

Shearer began his career in construction as an intern with S&P while at Texas Tech University, where he played Division I-A football. His first professional assignments for the company were in New Orleans where he supported the needs for 28 post-Hurricane Katrina school district recovery projects. Following that he advanced to Project Engineer and Project Manager for a variety of projects in the Central Texas area. In 2014 Shearer was promoted into Business Development management, with a focus in Central Texas. His personal portfolio includes projects in the commercial, education, governmental and healthcare sectors.

Shearer holds a 2008 B.A. in Management from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is currently serving his 4th year on the Association for Learning Environments South Texas Chapter Board as Treasurer.
