S&P Joins FBISD Mission Bend Elementary at Topping Out Ceremony

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) was proud to stand alongside our partners at Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) and PBK last week to celebrate a significant milestone in the construction of Mission Bend Elementary. Members of the community and the project team came together to hold a Topping Out ceremony and sign the final beam before it was installed. Also in attendance were Fort Bend ISD Superintendent, Dr. Marc Smith, FBISD Trustees Rick Garcia, Angie Hanan, and Adam Schoof, and Fort Bend County Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy.

“This is an example of what happens when you bring together leaders who have a heart of serving the district, have a passion for doing what’s right for the students,” said Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith.

Last year voters approved the district’s $1.26 billion bond, the largest in the district’s history, to help improve infrastructure across the district. Mission Bend Elementary was the first project funded by the bond. “With this new campus consolidating students who attended Mission Bend and Mission Glen Elementary, we are honored to work on this significant project,” said S&P Chief Revenue Officer, John Marshall.

The consolidation and rebuild align with the district’s long-term goal of providing innovative educational facilities for its students while also reducing operational expenses as it addresses the low enrollment at both schools.

“When you invest in things like this, what you’re doing is restoring human dignity. You are telling folks in this community that you matter. That you deserve to have the best facilities, you deserve to have the best infrastructure and you deserve to have access to the best facilities so that you may be able to achieve success,” said Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy.

The new 132,240 square foot campus will be able to accommodate up to 1,000 students once it opens in the Fall of 2025.
