Satterfield and Pontikes (S&P) was honored to attend the grand opening of the Kids’ Meals ExxonMobil Campus. Kids’ Meals is a non-profit organization dedicated to working towards a future where no child in Houston goes hungry and this facility is a step towards that goal. Kids’ Meals has a goal to feed 26,000 children each weekday by 2031. Each weekday they reach more than 10,000 preschoolers. Since their founding in 2006, they have delivered more than 19 million meals.
Notable in attendance at the ceremony was: Kids’ Meals Chief Executive Officer Beth Harp, Kids’ Meals Board of Directors Chair Michael Magilton, Board of Directors Building Committee Chair Wyatt Hogan, Building Hope Capital Campaign Chair Earl Hesterberg, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church Pastor Alf Halvorson, Exxon Mobil Foundation President Alvin Abraham and several Harris County elected officials.
“As I look out at each of you, I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude for you and our new headquarters today,” says Beth Harp, Kids’ Meals CEO. “It represents hope, it represents dignity, and it represents a way for us all together to change mealtimes and lifetimes. Together with your generous hearts, we made the impossible possible.”
The facility consists of 48,850 square feet that includes office space, a welcome center, education and conference rooms, volunteer food preparation area, and 11,790 square feet of warehouse space with five-tier food storage racks.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to build this new home for Kids’ Meals,” says Sam Sprouse, S&P Vice President of Commercial. “It’s humbling to know our work will help support thousands of children and families, and we are proud to stand alongside an organization making such a lasting impact.”
