Satterfield & Pontikes Breaks Ground on Phase 3A of Galena Park High School Modernization

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) proudly joined Galena Park ISD to celebrate the groundbreaking of Phase 3A of the Galena Park High School Master Plan—a transformative milestone in the ongoing modernization of the campus.

This latest phase marks a significant step forward in a five-phase redevelopment strategy designed to rebuild the high school while maintaining uninterrupted school operations. Phase 3A will deliver a 33,000-square-foot fieldhouse replacement. The two-story facility features locker rooms, weight room, hydrotherapy tubs, film rooms, and group instruction areas.

Principal Juan C. Ramirez welcomed attendees, announcing the beginning of this new phase of the Master Plan. Superintendent Dr. John Moore highlighted the journey it took to get here, starting with the district’s comprehensive 2023 assessment that identified more than $500 million in renovation and construction needs across Galena Park ISD. The approved bond is now allowing the ongoing transformation of many district facilities. Director of Facilities Planning Ed Martir closed out the groundbreaking ceremony by recognizing the teams that will be making this project a reality.

“We’re proud to be a part of bringing Galena Park ISD’s vision to life,” says Nic Flannery, S&P President. “This new facility will positively impact students and faculty for years to come.”

S&P is thrilled to work with Galena Park ISD, PBK Architects, and Rice and Gardner Consultants on this significant project.
