Project Spotlight: Fredericksburg Middle School
Redefining Academic Excellence
This two-story middle school provides a modern learning environment while also incorporating the town’s rich culture and history. The design is the result of three years of community input, ensuring that the new middle school is a source of pride and connection for all. Organized into instructional space, common areas, and athletics & extracurriculars, this 154,000 square-feet facility showcases elevated features such as a coffee shop, modular classrooms that utilize partitions, and abundant natural light.
One unique challenge that the project team overcame during construction involved the relocation of an existing reclaimed water line under one of the new roads to be constructed. This water line was crucial to the surrounding infrastructure since it supplied water to a golf course located about 7 miles away from the project site. Collaborating with the City of Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg ISD, and the design team, the water line was successfully relocated to maintain the project schedule and not impact the day-to-day operations of the golf course.
The project is on schedule to be completed by the Spring of 2025.
