Overview

The Fort Sam Houston Medical Education Training Campus (METC) is a United States Department of Defense (DoD) integrated campus under a single university-style administration with nearly 50 programs of study available to U.S. military enlisted students. S&P was the prime contractor for the design-build of Medical Instructional Facilities (MIF) 3 and 4.

MIF 3 is 175,000 SF and includes operating rooms, laboratories, and classrooms to cross-train enlisted medical personnel in behavioral health, surgery, otolaryngology, urology, and other specialists. The 245,000 SF MIF 4 facility is a two-story building that accommodates training for emergency and preventative medicine as well as other specialties. The two LEED Gold buildings represent the largest facilities within the planned medical training campus.
