Overview
Completing the 650,000 SF, multi-building high school complex two months ahead of schedule is a standout feature of this project. The three-story main building provides spacious student commons areas, core academic classrooms and career and technology spaces. The performing arts center provides a 900-seat auditorium and areas for orchestra, band, choir, theatre, and dance. Athletics offerings include three gymnasiums, weight room, wrestling room, tennis courts, sports complex with playing fields and a standalone natatorium with eight-lane, 25-meter swimming pool.
Early completion was facilitated by the outstanding work of onsite superintendents, highly skilled subcontractors, and the advanced use of technology. Schedule adherence was ensured by Satterfield & Pontikes’ Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination process to perform clash detection on the front end, regular progress reports for each work division, and real-time communication and field reporting using iPads with Procore.
