Overview
Klein Independent School District’s new Cain High School is one of the largest schools constructed in the Houston area. The 665,000 SF campus on an 83-acre site accommodates 3,500 students. The project was designed and built in two phases: Phase 1 included all site work, parking, drives and utilities, and Phase 2 was construction of the building and all related improvements. Along with modern classrooms and labs, the school includes a 1,200-seat dining facility, fine arts areas, numerous career and technical education spaces, and gymnasiums and athletic fields.
Satterfield & Pontikes leveraged our technology to provide real-time preconstruction feedback during review sessions with the Owner and A/E team, setting up the construction phase for success. Klein had details to make hard decisions throughout the design phase, PBK had the cost and constructability information necessary to ensure a complete set of construction documents, and the construction team had a sound understanding of what the project would entail once construction started.
