Overview
Designed to support advanced medical training and research, this facility includes a vivarium, dedicated animal research laboratories, a state-of-the-art medical simulation center, and a high-containment BSL-3 laboratory. Originally planned as a BSL-2 space, the lab was significantly upgraded during construction to meet BSL-3 standards—an enhancement made possible through strategic cost savings.
Leveraging our deep expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and an integrated project delivery (IPD) approach, S&P successfully delivered more than $25 million in savings to the owner. These efficiencies enabled the reinvestment of $5 million into expanded scope and facility upgrades, all while maintaining the original project schedule. The result is a cutting-edge academic and research environment that sets a new benchmark for innovation, safety, and collaboration in the life sciences.
