Overview

Houston City College’s West Campus Expansion delivered the first of several planned buildings on a new campus. The three-story, tilt-wall and curtain-wall structure houses general and active-learning classrooms, wet and dry teaching laboratories, an arts and maker studio, a media center, divisible multipurpose/ conference space, and faculty and administrative offices — all organized around an open-concept framework designed to support project-based learning over traditional lecture-style instruction.

Site work completed under this phase was coordinated to accommodate future buildings as the campus grows. The project also reflects a broader collaborative vision: the University of Houston–Katy maintains a facility on the same campus, and the two institutions plan to share core amenities — creating an integrated, multi-institutional hub for the surrounding community.
