Serving as one of two new facilities at the Port Houston Bayport Terminal complex, the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Building was designed and constructed to support the port’s day-to-day operational needs. The building features 27,460 SF of drive-through, open-chassis repair bays with overhead roll-up doors, plus dedicated electrical, engine rebuild machine, and tire shops. The remaining 37,540 SF houses offices, a conference room, communication room, technical libraries, break rooms, locker rooms, and equipment storage, including secure storage for electronic parts and components.

The project achieved LEED Silver certification through the integration of sustainable design principles throughout both design and construction. Site work included installation of a large-scale underground storm-sewer and electrical duct bank system, as well as heavy, highway-type paving to accommodate the demands of port vehicle traffic.
