Overview

Double Creek Elementary School is a standalone campus serving 900 students in grades from Pre-K through fifth grade. Built on a 20-acre greenfield site, the building features a fully stone-clad exterior utilizing Jarrell stone. The school takes its name from a local geographical feature where County Road 305 intersects a creek at two distinct points, integrating the campus with its natural surroundings. A standout safety feature is the structurally enhanced gymnasium, designed to withstand storm winds up to 180 MPH.

At the heart of the building is a two-story library space serving as the central hub, surrounded by a two-story classroom wing that overlooks it. The library’s learning stairs facilitate presentations and collaboration, while adjustable instructional spaces between grade-level houses provide natural light and enhanced learning opportunities. A one-story wing houses the gym, cafeteria, and music room. The cafeteria doubles as a fully functional auditorium complete with a stage, and the site includes an underground stormwater drainage system.
