Overview

Ronald Thornton Middle School accommodates up to 1,200 students, with a master plan for future expansion to 1,450 students. Designed to achieve LEED Certification, the two-story school integrates sustainable materials, energy-saving features, and daylighting skylights with flexible lighting controls to maximize natural light. The facility centers on dynamic, collaborative learning spaces, including a central library stocked with laptops and mobile devices to spark creativity and promote active learning. Named in honor of longtime Fort Bend ISD educator Ronald Thornton, whose leadership brought national recognition to the Willowridge High School band program, the school stands as a lasting investment in the district’s future.
