It’s one thing to build an important project from scratch, and quite another to be responsible for the renovation of a building of historical significance. Building 2791 on Fort Sam Houston has housed soldiers since its construction in the 1930s. Making the most of our expertise and BIM technology, S&P’s design-build team was able to completely and safely gut the interior and rebuild this 130,000 SF facility without altering the exterior. Today, the building provides living quarters for 284 soldiers and is the headquarters for Fort Sam Houston’s medical battalion. The basement of the building was redesigned to serve as the headquarters of the Fort Sam Houston medical battalion.
